If you are heading to Rome or Sicily this summer or daydreaming about a future trip, I have a motherlode list of places to eat for you. In March, I was lucky enough to travel and eat my way through Rome and Sicily with my daughter and sister-in-law, a special trip originally scheduled as a grandparent trip. It’s a trip I will never forget and wouldn’t have been able to do without my in-laws’ generosity and travel planning prowess, but where my skills shine and take over is finding places to eat.

The lists below are hardly exhaustive, and only a small window into what we ate in the time we were there (with one shop snuck in there because I loved it so much), but every single thing we ate was nothing short of amazing. I would go back to both places a million times over and never tire of them. I highly recommend going in the spring, not only to avoid crowds, but to eat all the artichokes in sight.
